Home organization

Organizing a home is very important for the proper functioning of a family. Involving children in these tasks is a way to develop skills in children such as time management, space organization and responsibility.

Here are some tips that can help with the general organization of the house with the little ones in mind.

We must never forget that each child has their own learning time and some may take more or less time to adjust to an organizational system. You need to be patient and consistent in your approach.

It's that time of year when we change our clothes and shoes, which is common when the seasons change. We can take the opportunity to do a deeper cleaning of the cabinets as well as select what is no longer useful or in a condition to be used. It may seem like a complicated task, but with the right tools and the right way we can make our lives easier.

Here are some steps you can implement to simplify these tasks:

Start by removing the clothes and shoes from the closets, separating them into three categories / piles: those that will be donated, those that will be kept and those that will be thrown away because they have no chance of being donated or repaired (it could be because they are damaged, torn or no longer fit).

Of the articles that we will keep, and in this article we will highlight shoes, we will separate them into groups: Shoes; sandals; slippers; boots; …

We can use drawers or shelves, which can be identified and are easily accessible to children, using a protector and placing the most used shoes in front.

A shoe organizer system such as boxes or beehives can be a good solution, depending on the type of closets each person has in their little ones' rooms. The important thing is to make the task easily achievable, promoting the responsibility of keeping your space organized and facilitating daily routines.

It is equally important to periodically check your shoes to see if they are in good condition and/or if they need to be cleaned. Once a month, for example, check on it and check if it’s still useful. This way we reduce footwear that we no longer need and gain space to place new ones, thus avoiding accumulation.
