Baby shoes

What to take into account when choosing shoes for your baby

The wide range of socks and footwear for babies from very small sizes is a GREAT temptation!
However, the choice of socks and shoes must be done very carefully (and not on impulse), from birth to older ages.

When the baby still doesn't stand up:

-In this age group, the baby does not need shoes. However, if the baby is going to an event where the parents want to complete the "look" with footwear, they can use "prop shoes", which do not squeeze, weigh down or limit movement.

-Socks that do not compress excessively and maintain a good temperature are the most recommended.

The “prop shoes” should preferably be:

-Made of flexible material;

-Without closure or with velcro closure;

-With soft, seamless interior;

-With fabric sole, smooth and soft.

When the baby starts to stand:

In this age group, it is still very important to walk barefoot, even on uneven floors, to stimulate muscle formation and development.

Non-slip socks are great, safe options for indoors.

From the moment the baby crawls and starts to stand more frequently, parents can alternate between bare feet and shoes, helping the baby to develop balance.

It is important to purchase good quality footwear that helps your baby start walking, avoiding any future problems.

Features that good footwear for first steps should have:

• Have an adequate size, preferably with a wide shape, so that it does not compress your fingers

• Have a reinforced tip to protect your fingers

• Have some elevation at the back

• Allow foot perspiration

• Be light and malleable

• Have soft, outward facing edges and seams

• Have a flexible and non-slip sole

• Be easy to put on and take off

It is important to remember that shoes should never be “inherited”.
Another baby's shoes may have changes in shape and cause deformities or other disorders in your child's feet.
