DIY - Carnival Costumes

Carnival is coming and with it all the hustle and bustle of preparing your costume for the masquerade parade!

Let's leave some suggestions for costumes to make at home, follow our "step by step" and make the kids' costumes at home!

CHEF

What we need:

  • White short sleeve t-shirt
  • Black textile marker
  • White felt piece (we used 36x70 – for a 6 year old child)
  • Thick elastic band

How to make:

  1. Draw, in pencil on the T-shirt, the lapel with the name “Chef…”, the collar, the flap and the buttons;
  2. Pass with a textile pen;
  3. Sew the sides of the felt piece;
  4. Make the corners of the hat;
  5. Sew the elastic all around the edge of the head.

Note: Place a sheet of cardboard inside the t-shirt so the marker does not travel to the back of the t-shirt.

Add-ons:

DOCTOR

What we need:

  • White short sleeve t-shirt
  • Black textile marker
  • 2 pieces of red felt (we used 2 A4 pieces)
  • 2 red straps
  • 1 strip of white cotton ribbon

How to make:

  1. Draw, in pencil on the T-shirt, the collar, pockets, doctor's accessories and name;
  2. Pass with a textile pen;
  3. Sew two white strips onto one of the felt pieces (centered) to form a cross;
  4. Sew the straps to each piece of felt;
  5. Sew the two pieces of felt together to assemble the doctor's bag.

Note: Place a sheet of cardboard inside the t-shirt so the marker does not travel to the back of the t-shirt.

Add-ons:

PETER PAN

What we need:

  • Green blanket

How to make:

  1. Fold the blanket in half and cut the opening for the head, in a “v” shape towards the front;
  2. Sew in an “L” shape to make the body and sleeves;
  3. Cut the ends of the sleeves and bottom into triangles;
  4. Make the hat into a triangular shape, folding one side and sewing the side;
  5. Make a fold and attach a red feather.

Add-ons:

  • Fringe shoes or boots, Flecos model
  • Tights color: bottle green
  • Brown belt
  • Wooden sword or other to taste
