TOOTHBRUSH
What daily care should we take with our toothbrush?
Replacement, disinfection and storage
WHEN TO REPLACE THE TOOTHBRUSH
Every 3 months.
A good way to remember is to do it when the season changes!
- When we get sick, the change must be made after recovery.
-
For patients undergoing chemotherapy, this change should be done every 3 days
TOOTHBRUSH DISINFECTION

Washing with
running water alone is not enough
After brushing we must:
- wash in running water
-
Tap the brush handle on the sink to remove excess water
-
do not use towels to dry the brush
-
apply a spray with chlorhexidine 0. 12% to eliminate all microorganisms
HOW TOOTHBRUSH SHOULD BE STORED
Never leave the brush with the protective cap on as the bristles will not dry out.
Use only for transportation when traveling.
Do not leave it near the toilet, when the toilet is flushed there are bacteria and suspended particles that can be projected up to 1.5m away.
IDEAL PLACE - INSIDE THE CLOSET
Leave the brush in a vertical position .
This way, the bristles dry faster, preventing the proliferation of fungi, bacteria and other microorganisms.
Do not leave one brush in contact with another.
A toothbrush is a personal object.
Never share it with anyone.
