Tips for a family photo session

Tips for a family photo session

Photographs are undoubtedly one of the best legacies we leave to our children , they are a way of telling our story and creating memories.
Furthermore, it is a way to have fun as a family , yes, because a session is meant to be fun and relaxed.
However, when we think about scheduling a photo session, some questions arise, such as who to do it with, where, when, what to wear, etc.

Therefore, here are some tips to think carefully about when you decide to carry out a photo session.

1. Choose a photographer that you identify with , it is important that during the session everything flows in a natural and relaxed way, so that the final result meets expectations.

2. The location? Where to do a photo shoot?
I'm quite suspicious because apart from sessions with small babies (where I recommend taking place in a calm and comfortable environment for the baby, such as your home), I always suggest carrying out the photo shoot in an outdoor, relaxed environment.

3. When is the best time? I would say very early or very late.
Let's think about a summer day, with the blue sky and the sun full of life, in this case, we have to take advantage when the light is not so strong or lasting, that is, very early or very late in the day, exactly when the sunlight is softer. However, there are exceptions, for example, if the location chosen for the photo shoot has consistent shadows, such as a garden with lots of trees.

4. What clothes to wear? What colors to use? This one, after the location of the session, is perhaps the most frequently asked question.
Firstly, you have to respect your style, you won't wear a long dress if you don't like dresses, right? Therefore, within your registration, choose practical clothes that allow you to create movements, because despite being asked for an initial pose, the rest will be natural, flowed throughout the session and this may involve throwing your child in the air, getting your feet in the sea, hugging your family tightly, etc.

However, you have to be careful with colors and patterns.
It's true that they don't need to be dressed in white, but they can create a color palette that works together, helping to create harmony in the overall ensemble. Think about pastel, organic colors and avoid very strong colors , such as red, green and personally I would avoid black. Another aspect to avoid is a strong mix of patterns or even clothes with very obvious brand logos , this could make your photo dated and we want exactly the opposite, for it to last over time.

With this, you have everything ready for your photo session.
See it as a fun moment with the Family, which will remain in your memory and which will certainly make you laugh in the following days.

Good smiles and good photographs!
